Ansbach, Germany–A 27-year-old man from Syria blew himself up in a crowd of music festival goers Sunday night. The man had been denied refugee status in Germany, according to German officials.
At least 12 other people were injured in the explosion. The three-day, open-air festival was in Ansbach, a city about 20 miles southwest of Nuremberg in Bavaria.
Joachim Herrmann, Interior Minister in Bavaria, said that three of the wounded were in serious condition but none of the injuries were believed to be life-threatening.
