One Dead After Patrol Car Hit In Arkansas

Alma, Arkansas–One person has died this morning in a collision along the eastbound lanes of
Interstate 40. The accident happened near the Arkansas Highway and Transportation
Department Weight Station at Alma. At approximately 3:35 a.m. this morning State Police received information
of a vehicle traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of traffic. Trooper Moomey was dispatched to the area when his patrol car was struck by the driver driving the wrong direction. Trooper Moomey was transported to an area hospital where he is listed in serious, but stable condition. The driver of the other vehicle was pronounced dead on scene. An investigation of the crash is underway.
