Gould, Arkansas—Jack Harold Jones, 52, has died after the U.S. Supreme Court this evening denied requests to stay his execution by lethal injection. Jones was convicted in the 1995 rape and murder of a mother in front of her young daughter. Jones last meal was fried chicken, potato logs with tartar sauce, beef jerky bites, three candy bars, a chocolate milkshake and fruit punch. A stay on the second execution scheduled for last night was lifted, and Marcel Williams, who was convicted of the kidnap, rape, and murder of Stacy Errickson in 1994, was killed approximately three hours later.
